Anger about pubic sector pay and condtions reaches the mainstream (almost)

Daily Express today (eugh)

PUBLIC SECTOR JOBS SCANDAL - MORE PAY, CRAZY CAREERS ALL FUNDED BY THE TAXPAYER

Presumabably the DM will be there soon with a diatribe.

But seriously, this is an important issue; how long can the disparity between public  and private sector pay, terms and pensions be maintained?

  1. It's a tricky topic, because while it may seem blindingly obvious that our state is turning into a kleptocracy to thee and me, we know that the gummint is going to hit back with the time honoured phrase...

The Government has made a priority of fair remuneration for teachers, nurses, doctors, police officers and other public servants...

I've done the numbers. We have 1.3 million teachers, nurses, doctors and police officers. And we have 7 million 'other public servants'.

Nobody in his right mind recommends sacking nurses etc (except the few incompetent ones) it's the other 7 million we are trying to talk about.
